Board Member Active Emeritus - Lori Boyer

Lori Boyer

"A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships are for. Sail out to sea and do new things."  Rear Admiral Grace Hopper, developer of the first compiler for a computer programming language and coiner of the terms “computer bug” and “debugging".

Lori Boyer is an energetic Information Technology Professional with a solid track record in the design, development and project management of enterprise-wide software applications. She is currently a Software Engineer at Barnes & Thornburg LLP.

A graduate of Indiana University, Lori is always looking to learn new technology. She was a finalist for a Leading Light Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) from Women & Hi Tech. She was also a TechPoint Mira Award Finalist in the Technical Services Division.  Lori was also part of the Techpoint #Tech25 in 2018.

In December of 2017, Lori applied for a #GrowWithGoogle Scholarship to learn Android Development.  In early 2018, she successfully completed the Challenge Scholarship, which ensured her placement in the #GrowWithGoogle Android Developer Nanodegree program.  In September of 2018, Lori successfully completed the Nanodegree program.

Maintaining a strong work-life balance is important to Lori, as she enjoys spending time with her husband and their cat named Jenson. She is a fan of Dave Matthews Band, F1, St. Louis Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, swimming, yoga, and spending time with friends.

Lori was looking for an organization that would enable her to connect with other women working in technology, when a friend introduced her to Women & Hi Tech.  Right away, Lori knew she wanted to become involved in supporting the organization, and she began to volunteer as the website editor.

Lori hopes Women & Hi Tech continues to expand it's very popular Passport to Hi Tech and Ignite Your Superpower STEM days.
