"Bloom where you are planted.” 1 Corinthians 7:20–24
Wendy Maple grew up in Glassboro, NJ and is a 1982 Temple University Cum Laude graduate with a BA in Communications – Radio, TV and Film. Her first passion was television news, where she was a reporter and anchor (Wendy Scott) for WTTV-4 in Indianapolis for a number of years in the late 80’s.
Fast forward to the present and she joined her current employer Theoris Services in December of 2016, where Wendy is the Director of Client Services. Her role at Theoris is business development and account management to provide professional IT and Engineering strategic consulting, managed solutions and talent solutions. Her clients are primarily Indiana-based small to enterprise level companies representing multiple industry verticals.
In 2010, Wendy's career shifted towards a more technology-related path. At that time, she was a Recruitment Marketing Strategist for First Advantage. Wendy used software tools to provide digital media and web-based talent recruitment solutions for clients like Citi, Best Buy, Sears and others.
When First Advantage was acquired, her division became Findly, a company that provided cloud-based talent attraction and acquisition software solutions. Wendy's title changed to Account Manager. She left Findly to join STLogics and its sister company STBigData as Vice President of Technology Solutions. It’s there where she organized and hosted the first Indy Big Data Conference in 2014. This has become an annual Indianapolis IT event since its inception.
Wendy continued her IT career as a trusted strategic business advisor working as an Account Executive at CSpring in 2015 before joining Theoris.
She is happily married to her husband Mark and is a mother of two sons. Her oldest son Gil is studying to be a doctor at Indiana University’s Medical School in Indianapolis. Her youngest son Andy attends Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is a walk-on linebacker on IU’s football team. Go Hoosiers! Her family has a dog named Chopper and live in Fishers.
Wendy loves being social and getting together with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, sports, concerts, movies, dining out and reading. Any beach is ALWAYS her happy place!
As a lifetime learner, she decided to join Women & Hi Tech to learn more about IT and find out how women work best in the predominately male dominated fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). She's happy to say, Women & Hi Tech met her expectations and more!
Her goal for W & HT is to expand its outreach by improving its brand awareness and by offering more STEM related educational opportunities for females of all ages.
