“The free exploring mind of the individual human is the most valuable thing in the world.” - John Steinbeck

Amber attended DePauw University as a 21st Century Scholar and graduated in 2009 with a dual bachelor’s in creative writing and philosophy. In 2014 she completed her Master of Fine Arts in creative nonfiction writing at Northwestern University.

Amber works as a Manager-Marketing Editor at Eli Lilly & Company. The Marketing Editor is expected to be a creative problem-solver who supports achievement of the brand's goals while always striving for ways to apply the process in a more effective manner. The Marketing Editor is an advocate for each brand's unique character who ensures tactic accuracy and compliance prior to market entry. Prior to this role, she worked as a content writer, freelance reporter, editor, and more.

As a creative professional, her need for Women & Hi Tech results from a need to be connected to a tribe of high-achieving women who can inspire her to lifelong learning. She is also always seeking opportunities to advance feminism and racial and gender equity, including LGBTQIA+ inclusion.

One of Amber’s goals as a board member of Women & Hi Tech is to grow the organization’s digital marketing efforts to expand awareness and impact across Indiana, especially to rural girls in low-income families.

Amber’s hobbies include painting, reading, cooking, playing video games, and gardening. She lives with her partner Larry and their dog Archie in Elwood, Indiana.
